JONAH PAUL SOUCY

ABOUT JONAH

Jonah was born and raised in Nashua, NH, which he affectionately refers to as "the Great White North". From a young age, he has loved music, and recognized its power in bringing people closer to God and to each other. As he grew older, that love of music as well as a love for the Lord led him to get involved with music ministry at his local parish and in a leadership role with his youth group.

Instead of heading off to college right away after graduating high school, Jonah took a gap year serving with NET Ministries, where he recognized a great love and call to do youth ministry (and met his incredible wife Shannon in the process!).

After his time with NET, Jonah went to school at Franciscan University in Stuebenville, where he became involved in various music ministry programs, and was a Student Fellow working for the Hildebrand Project, a non-profit devoted to spreading the philosophy of Dietrich von Hildebrand and other giants of Catholic Personalism, such as Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II), Edith Stein, and others. During this time he developed a love for writing, which was exercised primarily through the Hildebrand Project Student Fellowship Blog, "Truth From the Heart".

Jonah graduated from Franciscan in 2017 with a degree in Theology and Philosophy. In 2023 he received a Masters degree in Catechetics and Evangelization from the same University. He currently works full-time as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for a parish in Pittsburgh, PA, where he lives with his wife Shannon, his son and a cat named Jupiter. In addition to his parish work, he is a traveling speaker, musician, and writer who loves the Lord, loves people, and wants to bring them closer together.

About
"There’s a big difference between performing a song and leading worship. Jonah does the latter...and really well. He leads parishioners in a prayerful way, with them participating in the praise and engaging in the Lord. His message always ties to the moment and those he’s serving. Easy to work with and a great example to anyone trying to grow in faith."

Mark Joseph, Vice President of Outreach and Evangelization - Franciscan University (Steubenville Conference Office)

“Jesus departed from His disciples to be alone with His Father in prayer, and so, too, does every human being share this deepest of needs. This beautifully written book is full of wisdom and inspiration, and its author is an expert guide. Today, more than ever, we need ready access to our full inheritance of Catholic prayer.
